2018 Concert Schedule

“Music Inspired by the Scenes and Sounds of Nature”

Join us as we celebrate our 18th season of the region’s largest Summer Music Festival and Academy, “Music Inspired by Nature”! Festival concerts will be held daily and are open to the public. Audiences will enjoy the rare opportunity to hear world-renowned, professional musicians perform at the Innsbrook Resort in a small, intimate setting. Many concerts will emphasize classical pieces, however this year, concerts will also showcase fiddle tunes, soloists, ensembles, and jazz/Roaring 20s-inspired music. Prices for all concerts coming soon. Tickets go on sale May 1st and prices will vary. Unless indicated in the concert description, all chamber concerts will be held at the Innsbrook Resort’s Aspen Center.

Opening Night Institute Concert: Homecoming
Friday, June 8 | 7:30 p.m.
Performances by David Halen and friends, featuring the return to Innsbrook of the Calidore String Quartet and Gilles Apap in music by Haydn, Franck, and Enescu.

Concert at the Log Cabin
No Reserved Seating.
Saturday, June 9 | 10:30 a.m.
Enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Gilles Apap will be performing Irish fiddle tunes at the Historic Log Cabin. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy beautiful Irish music while being surrounded by the beauty and enchanting sounds of nature.

Saturday, June 9 | 7:30 p.m.
Musical performances featuring Rohan De Silva, Chee-yun Kim, Matt Lipman, and Matt Zalkind in music of Dohnanyi and Brahms.

Fundraising Concert: Alpine Musicale

Sunday, June 10 | 2:00 p.m.
Experience a musical progressive event served at two distinct Alpine Lake homes as you enjoy tasty tidbits and cocktails. After soaking up a mini-concert featuring the Calidore String Quartet at the first home, guests will travel by boat to the second home for another mini-concert. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served at each location.

Exciting musical performance featuring Chee-yun Kim performing Piazzolla’s Grand tango, and Bernstein’s Westside Story.

Exclusive Event: The Institute’s Party on the Patio
Monday, June 11 | 5:30 p.m.

Chamber Concert
Monday, June 11 | 7:30 p.m.
The concert features Stephanie Trick and Paolo Alderighi, internationally known pianists who specialize in ragtime and stride piano styles. You will be amazed by their virtuosity, performing as a duet at one piano.

Fundraising Concert: Ladies Tea and Garden Party
Tuesday, June 12 | 2:00 p.m.

Put on your favorite bonnet and join us at another breathtaking home on Alpine Lake for tasty delights, teas, or a more adventurous selection of beverages. Some of the Festival young stars will provide the music

Tuesday, June 12 | 7:30 p.m.
This concert will feature Gilles Apap in performances of Bartok’s Six Romanian Dances and the Bartok Divertimento with Festival artists.

Fundraising Concert: Wine and Ragtime
Wednesday, June 13 | 2:00 p.m.
Space is limited.
Come enjoy ragtime and wine at another beautiful home inside the Innsbrook Resort. Stephanie Trick and Paolo Alderighi will perform ragtime and stride piano styles while you sip wine chosen by the homeowner.

A concert featuring the Calidore String Quartet in a performance of Beethoven’s String Quartet, Op. 59, No.3.

Thursday, June 14 | 7:30 p.m.
This concert features the Calidore String Quartet with Blake Pouliot in Chausson’s Violin Concerto, and Chee-yun Kim, Henry Kramer, and Matt Zalkind performing the Bernstein Piano trio.

Friday, June 15 | 4:00 p.m.
FREE – No tickets and no reservations required. Open seating.
Support our fabulous Academy as some of our students are highlighted in the Student Solo Showcase! This is a delightful afternoon celebrating the spirit of the Festival and Academy.

Join us at the Aspen Center for performances featuring the Calidore String Quartet and Henry Kramer performing the Schumann Piano Quintet.

Following the Friday evening chamber music concert, join us at one last magnificent Innsbrook home as we enjoy late-night tasty treats and cocktails. Musical guests will be featured along with some musical surprises.

The Academy students take the Aspen Center stage for one last performance! Please join us to support our academy students in their final concert.

Closing Night Concert (Music Inspired by Nature)

Join us one final time as we close out the 18th season of the Innsbrook Institute’s Summer Music Festival and Academy! This will be the grand finale, featuring David Halen and the Festival musicians.
