The Summer Music Festival and Academy is held over 9 days at the beautiful, 7,500-acre, 100-lake Innsbrook Resort. What makes the Institute’s Festival and Academy unique, is that it is the only Festival and Academy in the Midwest where the musicians and students work and study in the natural surroundings of the resort, thus creating more of a retreat-like atmosphere than the feel of doing “work”.
The festival concerts, held every evening and open to the public, will give the audience the rare opportunity to hear the musicians and academy students come together to perform at the Aspen Banquet Center onsite at the Resort.
The academy offers an intensive course of study to young string musicians (ages 11 to 25 years). The students come from many different parts of the globe to have the chance to learn under the direction of world-renowned faculty and musicians. Quite a few of the Institute’s Academy alums have gone on to become well-established professional musicians, and today, are highly respected in the world of symphonic orchestras and chamber concerts.
